Replacing a 1999 Chevy S-10 2.2L Alternator?

How in the heck do I get to this thing? I can see it, but it is literally buried.

Can't get to it from underneath or from above.

I got cooling hoses, A/C hoses, and some plastic thing that sits on top of the block and hooks onto the throttle body.

Underneath I have general suspension/engine parts make it difficult to reach, let alone get a socket on it to undo any bolts.

Again, here's the details:

Make: Chevrolet

Model : S-10

Engine: 2.2L SMFI

Manual

2 Wheel Drive

Really can't say as I can afford to pay to have it fixed, I've done alternators before, just not with this much stuff in the way.

Replacing a 1999 Chevy S-10 2.2L Alternator?
Sorry to tell you this, but there really isn't a "trick" to it; It is just find the most direct rout to it, and begin removing whatever is in the way of getting to it.

Good Luck
Reply:THE FIRST thing to remove is the NEGATIVE battery cable. It is always safer to remove the negitive cable. Then you have to remove all the hoses and brackets around the alternator. They are not the nicest ones to get to. Just go slow so you remember the order things go.
Reply:Move the stuff till you can get to the Alt and when done put it all back
Reply:You're gonna have to move all the things that are in your way in order to get to this alternator..... just make SURE the first thimg you remove is the positive (+) battery cable. Good luck!!!
Reply:chicken noodle soup with a dodo on the side
